dr. vishal narayan, iim alumnus and global scholar, appointed associate dean at uconn to lead graduate programs serving 1,200+ students worldwide.

Dr. Vishal Narayan, a distinguished academic and alumnus of Delhi University and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), has been appointed Associate Dean of Graduate Business Programs at the University of Connecticut School of Business (UConn), a top-ranked public business school in the United States.
In this leadership role, Dr. Narayan will oversee nine graduate programs serving over 1,200 students, including a significant number from India. UConn’s MS in Business Analytics & Project Management (BAPM) program alone currently enrolls 118 Indian students, underscoring the university’s growing appeal among Indian postgraduate aspirants.

“I am really excited to step into this role at such a pivotal time in global business education,” said Dr. Narayan. “Working alongside outstanding faculty and a talented pool of students from across the world, including a strong Indian contingent, is deeply rewarding. The demand for strategic, analytical, and ethical leadership is global - from New York to New Delhi.”
Located in scenic New England and within easy reach of New York City and Boston, UConn is known for academic excellence and affordability. Notably, it offers the same tuition rates for international and domestic students, making it an attractive destination for Indian students seeking world-class education abroad.
Dr. Narayan brings a wealth of international experience to the role. He earned his Ph.D. from New York University in 2007 and previously taught at Cornell University and the National University of Singapore before joining UConn in 2022. As a Professor of Marketing, his research spans marketing analytics, emerging markets, and social media, with publications in leading academic journals.
A strong advocate for accessible, value-driven education, Dr. Narayan led the redesign of UConn’s MBA programs to better align with post-pandemic student needs: emphasizing flexibility, innovation, and career readiness.
His appointment reflects the growing global impact of Indian-origin academics and serves as an inspiring example for Indian students aspiring to lead on the international stage.
