Making Centre and State Powers Clear to Make Federalism Work Better

The Supreme Court of India is looking at issues related to how the country is run, especially problems between the Centre and the States. These cases are very important to understand what the constitution says about the balance of power and money between the Centre and the States.

One big issue is how money is shared between the Centre and the States. This is called federalism. There are questions about how taxesre shared how much money the States get and if the States are getting enough money. The Finance Commission of India plays a role in making sure the money is shared fairly but there are often arguments about how it is done.
