Focus on joint military exercises, maritime security, and defence technology collaboration to strengthen the Indo-Pacific security framework

India and Japan recently held a high-level defence dialogue aimed at strengthening their strategic and security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. The discussions reflected the growing importance of defence collaboration between the two countries in addressing emerging regional security challenges.
Joint Military Exercises

The discussions also highlighted the importance of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad), which includes India, Japan, the United States, and Australia. The countries aim to enhance regional stability through coordinated diplomatic and security initiatives.
Promoting a Free and Open Indo-Pacific
The growing defence partnership between India and Japan supports the vision of a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.
Strengthening India’s Maritime Security
Enhanced cooperation with Japan contributes to India’s maritime capabilities and helps secure critical sea routes that are vital for trade and energy supplies.

The partnership also plays a crucial role in maintaining balance and stability in the Indo-Pacific amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
