Solar energy leads growth while investments in wind and green hydrogen accelerate India’s clean energy transition

India’s renewable energy sector has achieved a significant milestone as the country continues to expand its clean energy capacity. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the rapid growth in renewable power generation reflects the government’s continued push toward sustainable energy development.
Solar power remains the dominant contributor to the expansion of renewable energy capacity. Large solar parks, rooftop solar installations, and supportive government policies have played a major role in driving solar energy growth across the country.

In addition to solar energy, India has witnessed increasing investments in wind power projects and emerging clean technologies such as Green Hydrogen. These initiatives are aimed at diversifying the renewable energy mix and promoting innovation in the energy sector.
The expansion of renewable energy capacity is expected to help India meet its international climate commitments under the Paris Agreement. It also supports the country’s long-term energy transition by reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions.
Experts believe that continued investments in renewable energy infrastructure will not only strengthen India’s energy security but also contribute to sustainable economic growth and environmental protection.
