The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has granted some relaxations to schools concerning the submission of APAAR IDs associated with the List of Candidates (LOC) information for Classes 10 and 12

What does APAAR mean?
The Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) is a project launched under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and is in accordance with the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCrF).

The aim is to give each student in India a unique, lasting 12-digit ID that serves as their lifelong academic identity.
Objective and Main Characteristics:
To gather all educational accomplishments (grades, report cards, certificates, extracurricular achievements, etc.) into one digital record associated with the student.
To facilitate smooth credit transfers, movement among institutions, acknowledgment of previous learning, and adaptability in education.
Issues Documented by Educational Institutions
Since the implementation of APAAR last year, schools have encountered various challenges in creating IDs for students:
Technical issues and challenges in merging between platforms.
Discrepancies between educational records and Aadhaar information.
Delays in updating or rectifying Aadhaar-linked information.
Absence of parental approval stemming from privacy issues.
Bank Akademik Kredit (BAK)
– The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), outlined in NEP 2020, serves as a digital storage system for students' academic achievements.
– Based on the National Academic Depository (NAD), it allows students to save, move, and utilize credits obtained from accredited institutions.
– Linked with the APAAR ID, it enables smooth academic mobility, permitting students to transfer between institutions for advanced studies without having to resubmit physical certificates multiple times.
