BPSC TRE 4.0 registration begins for 32,388 teaching posts, apply by Oct 21

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has opened the application window for the School Teacher Recruitment Examination, TRE 4.0, with 32,388 teaching posts available across government schools in the state.

The registration process began on Sept 21, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications through the official BPSC website until Oct 21. The recruitment covers teaching positions from Classes 1 to 12, with the largest share of vacancies at the higher-secondary level.

Of the total 32,388 posts, 16,101 vacancies are for teachers of Classes 11 and 12. The vacancy distribution also includes 3,847 posts for Classes 1 to 5, 8,563 for Classes 6 to 8, and 3,877 for Classes 9 and 10.

BPSC TRE 4.0 vacancy details

The vacancies announced under the fourth phase of the teacher recruitment examination are distributed across four school levels:

Classes 1 to 5: 3,847 vacancies

Classes 6 to 8: 8,563 vacancies

Classes 9 and 10: 3,877 vacancies

Classes 11 and 12: 16,101 vacancies

Total: 32,388 vacancies

Application process

Candidates can submit their applications online by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official BPSC website at bpsc.bih.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on the BPSC TRE 4.0 2026 registration link on the homepage.

Step 3: Complete the registration process on the new page.

Step 4: Log in using the generated credentials and fill out the application form.

Step 5: Enter the required personal and academic details.

Step 6: Pay the applicable examination fee through the available online payment options.

Step 7: Submit the completed application form.

Step 8: Download the confirmation page.

Step 9: Take a printout of the confirmation page and keep it for future reference.

Application fee

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹100 for BPSC TRE 4.0. The payment can be made online using a debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.

Applicants seeking recruitment in more than one category will have to pay the examination fee separately for each category. The four categories are Classes 1 to 5, Classes 6 to 8, Classes 9 to 10, and Classes 11 to 12.

Applicable bank charges for online payments will also have to be paid by the candidates.

Exam pattern

The BPSC TRE 4.0 Main Examination will comprise 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions carrying 150 marks. Candidates will get 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the examination, with each question carrying one mark.

The examination will have negative marking. One-third of a mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Exam date

The TRE 4.0 examination was earlier expected to be conducted in September 2026, but the schedule has been postponed. BPSC has not announced a revised examination date yet.

The Commission is expected to provide the updated examination schedule through its detailed recruitment notification.
