IIT Madras has started direct admissions for its four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) program in Data Science and Applications for candidates who qualified for JEE Advanced 2026. Eligible candidates can apply through the official IIT Madras portal until May 31, 2026.
The admission process, including registration, document upload, and final submission, has to be completed online through the institute’s official website.

About the Program
According to IIT Madras, the BS program has been designed to offer flexibility and accessibility to students. Learners can choose to exit at different stages with a diploma or a BSc degree or continue to complete the full BS degree.
The curriculum focuses on programming, data science, and applied learning, with the aim of preparing students for higher education opportunities as well as industry roles.
Application Process for JEE Advanced Qualifiers
Candidates who cleared JEE Advanced 2026 can apply by registering with a valid email ID and mobile number.
Applicants are required to verify their details, complete the application form with personal and academic information, upload necessary documents such as photographs and certificates, and pay the application fee if applicable.
After completing the submission process, candidates are advised to download and save the confirmation page for future reference. The JEE Advanced 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on May 17.
IISc Bengaluru Introduces New BTech Programs
Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has announced three new BTech programs for the 2026 academic session.
The newly introduced programs are BTech in Materials Science and Engineering, BTech in Mechanics and Computing, and BTech in Aerospace Engineering.
Admissions to these programs will be based on JEE Advanced scores through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 counseling process.
IISc Bengaluru currently offers undergraduate programs, including Bachelor of Science (Research) and BTech in Mathematics and Computing.
The institute has been admitting students to its BTech Mathematics and Computing program through JEE Advanced scores via the IISc admission portal.
